e-mail from someone at work: "we need some slugs for a workshop for kids. word on the street is that you have some. can you bring them tomarrow and tell kids about them?"
I think to self: *hmm. I'm not sure how many are still alive. I've been feeding them, but I rarely see any since they come out at night, and I'm usually sleeping then....but there must be a few...*
later that night...
I look at the slug tank.
There are about 30 plastered all over the tank walls, oozing with gusto.
Looks like I'll be doing a slug demo tomarrow... problem is I know very little about them.

Wow, I'm proud that people hear on the street that you have slugs. You could be called Ace Slug Wrangler, or Slug Smuggler Extraordinaire! You should put some caterpillers in there with the slugs and see if the kids can tell them apart... or something.
Reading your blog is a great way to avoid working.
once when i was babysitting your cousin Laura, I was letting a slug slither on my hand & as I was telling her that slugs don't bite, the slug bit me! maybe they attach like a leach does? I never liked slugs very much after that.
someone at Oberlin told me they 'radulate' I've let the larger ones nibble on my finger. It's very mild, like sandpaper lightly rubbing. It leaves no visible mark. but, if it was on more sensitive skin...maybe. fingers are pretty tough. i wouldn't want one to radulate my eyelid, for example.
